Personal issues will have a big impact on your life while you are studying at university- these can range from having a feeling of discomfort about something, to having critical incidents happen, such as trauma, financial or relationship issues.

There may be times when speaking with someone about any issues you are facing will help.  UOW provides a number of options to speak with someone about whatever is on your mind.  

Counselling at UOW Southern Highlands

The Counselling Service at Moss Vale TAFE is available to UOW students. Sandy Hausler is an experienced counsellor with TAFE and is available on the Moss Vale TAFE campus one day per week, alternatively on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Phone 4868 0111 (TAFE administration) to make an appointment.

UOW Wollongong Counselling

You can also access the UOW counsellors based in Wollongong.
Call 02 4221 3445 for an appointment, or visit the UOW Counselling Service website which contains further details, including resources and contact details for many external sources of assistance, such as Lifeline, Mental Health Assistance and other emergency contacts.

 Free financial advice

As a student of UOW Southern Highlands you have access to the financial Counselling Services. either in person at Mission Australia Wollonong or via Skype. This service can assist you with:

  • Paying bills
  • Saving Goals
  • Loans and Credit issues
  • Budgeting 
  • Dealing with Centrelink and much more
