The Bachelor of Arts is one of the most popular and flexible university degrees.

Business

Bachelor of Business

The Bachelor of Business is the most flexible of the University's business degrees, offering a broad education across all key aspects of the business environment. In addition to studying core disciplines of accounting, economics, finance, marketing and management, you can tailor your studies to your interests by taking electives from a particular business discipline.  

The broad scope of this degree makes it ideal for those looking to gain an understanding of multiple aspects of business, such as required in running a small business or organisation; and for those who need to liaise effectively with professionals across the functions of a larger organisation.  

Bachelor of Commerce

Majors available at UOW Southern Highlands:

The Bachelor of Commerce provides a core of first year subjects covering the essential disciplines in business, however provides a deeper specialisation in a particular professional field in the second and third years. 

The Accountancy major facilities practice as a professionally accredited accountant as the program is recognised by professional accounting organisations in Australia and overseas.  

Management looks at how to plan, coordinate and lead group efforts - the mobilisation of human and material resources to achieve organisational goals. 

Other majors

  • Marketing - up  to two years of the Marketing major is available at the Southern Highlands campus.  
  • all other majors - the first year can be completed at the Southern Highlands 
     

Education

Master of Teaching (Primary)

Master of Teaching (Secondary)

UOW Southern Highlands offers a career pathway into teaching through the Master of Teaching, in either Primary or Secondary Education.  

The course provides students with up to 80 days of professional experience in local schools with options to apply for overseas professional experience. 

Entry to the Masters requires completion of a Bachelor degree that meets the subject content requirements set by the Board of Studies, Teaching and Secondary Standards (BOSTES). 

If you don't have a Bachelors degree, you can complete the full program of study at UOW Southern Highlands to become a teacher by completing the Bachelor of Arts, Business or Commerce, and then apply for entry to the Masters program.
